Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions’ Star Shines Bright, Again!

BUFFALO, N.Y. – November 9, 2022 – For a second straight year, Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions has earned a 5-Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Star Ratings system for its Medicare Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)*.

For the 2023 plan year, the Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions PDP is 1 of only 2 Prescription Drug Plans nationwide to receive a 5-Star rating. The average overall star rating for all prescription drug plans is 3.25 stars.

“We are honored to once again be recognized as one of the top EGWP Prescription Drug Plan administrators across the nation for our Medicare beneficiaries,” said Lynne Reilly, president of Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Independent Health. “Earning this top-level distinction from CMS is a testament to the hard work and dedication by our team to providing both excellent care and great service.”

The annual Star Ratings are designed to help Medicare beneficiaries assess the quality, value and performance of every Medicare plan throughout the nation. Plans are rated based on a 5-star system — 1 star meaning “poor” quality and 5 stars for “excellent” quality**. The key components that Part D Prescription Drug Plans are measured on each year include:

  • Drug Plan Customer Service
  • Member Complaints and Changes in the Drug Plan’s Performance
  • Member Experience with the Drug Plan
  • Drug Safety and Accuracy of Drug Pricing

Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions also earned perfect 5-Star ratings for the 2022 and 2019 plan years, ranking them among the best in the country, and has consistently earned high star ratings (4.0 or higher) since beginning to administer a Medicare EGWP Prescription Drug Plan in 2015.

“I am so proud of our team,” Reilly added. “We are focused on providing customizable benefits and top-notch customer service for all of our beneficiaries, both now and in the future.”
